Owen can't lick his lips

So when the delicious oatmeal, barley, or multi-grain cereal is stuck to the margins of his mouth, there it remains.

Lip-licking: another skill that I didn't realize one had to learn.

When I was in elementary school, I required speech therapy for what was fairly severe problems with a lisp, "ch" sounds, and some other problems.

Class always started with looking at my mouth in the mirror and training myself to touch my chin and nose with my tounge. My tounge was spazzy and would be easily tripped up. Arguably it still is.

Anyhow... wish O William good luck on the whole oatmeal licking problem. It's harder than it looks

This may be a blessing in disguise. Molly licks her lips a good bit, which is apparently not uncommon for infants her age. Combine this with the effects of winter, and she can end up with some really chapped lips (to the point of cracking and bleeding). Vaseline on her lips plus a humidifier to raise the humidity in her room helps, but the problem remains. So, perhaps Owen's lack of licking will help him avoid such a fate.
